HoliMont is the resort in Ellicottville most committed to riding, and its bike park has grown into a real destination. You get a chairlift that does the climbing, 25 marked trails from mellow flow to expert freeride, and a gate that opens straight onto the WNYMBA Epic system. Best of all, you do not need to be a HoliMont member to ride it.
The lift-served park
The heart of the park is the Sunset Chair, loaded with Deason-built bike carriers so the lift line moves and your laps stack up fast. From the top you can drop into 25 trails, split into 8 cross-country runs and 17 downhill runs, spanning beginner all the way to expert. That mix is what makes HoliMont work for a whole group: someone learning to brake on a green can ride the same lift as the rider chasing gaps and quarter pipes.
Trails and difficulty
More than 14 miles of purpose-built track sit inside the park boundary. The terrain runs from smooth machine-built flow to technical and freeride lines seeded with the good stuff: jumps, ride-on and jump-on features, gaps, quarter pipes, and half pipes, plus the natural gravel, rock, roots, boulders, logs, and water crossings that make Northeast riding what it is. Beginners get freeride pedal access into the blue and black technical downhills, so you can session harder terrain at your own pace instead of hucking into it blind.
First lift-served day? Rent a full-suspension bike and a full-face helmet, take one easy lap to learn the brakes and the lift load, then step up a grade at a time. Pads are cheap insurance on day one.
2026 season and hours

Rentals and gear
You do not need to own a downhill rig to ride. Loud Performance handles rentals at the base:
- Full-suspension bike: $99.99
- Hardtail: $74.95
- Kids bike: $59.99
- Helmet: $25, pads: $25
A mobile service trailer sits on-site for repairs, parts, and accessories, so a torn tire or a rubbing brake does not end your day.
Kids and first-timers
HoliMont runs Kids Mountain Bike Camps for ages 7 and up, with four two-day sessions spread across June, July, August, and September. They fill up, so register ahead. For adults new to the sport, start with a green flow lap, add an easier cross-country run to get a feel for climbing and natural terrain, then progress into the blue lines once your brakes and body language catch up.
Ride into the Epic system
The park is not the end of the trail. HoliMont connects directly to more than 35 miles of the WNYMBA Epic Trail System in the McCarty Hill and Little Rock City state forests, maintained by the Western New York Mountain Bike Association. Those trails tie the region's riding together, and Ellicottville's other lift-served park, Holiday Valley, runs its own bike park just across town. When you want to earn your descents instead of riding the lift, that gate is right there.
Ride respectfully. The Epic trails exist because volunteers build and maintain them. Stay off wet and closed trails, yield to uphill riders, and pack out what you pack in. After-hours use of the trails is at your own risk.
